Football Free Agency has begun, NBA is heating up, and Opening Day for Baseball is right around the corner! Let us check out the hottest cards that have been heating up or dropping from this past week!
#1- 2020 Hoops Rookie Special Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves): Anthony Edwards has had much hype around time since being a dominating shooting guard in Georgia, and ever since the Minnesota Timberwolves drafted him with the first pick, he hasn't looked back since. Racking up stats for the season of 16.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 2.5 APG, he has been nearly the only excitement in Minnesota. On March 18th Edwards asserted his dominance over the Phoenix Suns and dropped 42 points on 15-31 shooting, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. This caught the attention of… well, everyone. Rookie of the year talks flooded the internet (especially with the latest injury to LaMelo Ball), and his card prices have skyrocketed! One card that has specifically gotten much attention has been his 2020 NBA Hoops Rookie Special card. Over the past 7 days, that card has seen a rise of over 350%, jumping to almost $43 per raw card; a week ago, this was a $16 card. This card might hold some significant value in the future. It is extremely similar to the Donruss Marvels set that took the hobby by storm with top rookies like Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, and RJ Barrett.

#2- 2019 Jordan Poole Prizm Silver (Golden State Warriors): Stephen Curry has been the face of the Warriors for some time now! The lights-out three-point shooter suffered a recent tailbone contusion, and there’s been one person who has taken full advantage of a beaten-up Warrior team. Jordan Poole. Poole, since March 4th, has single-handedly taken over that Warriors offense. Scoring over 20 points in 4 of his last 7 games, Golden State might have an extremely talented bench player once the team gets fully back to being healthy. With being a first-round pick in the 2019 draft, Poole didn't see much of the floor, only averaging 8 PPG. With Prizm Silvers considered one of the card market's "holy grails," we are seeing that with Jordan’s 2019 Silver as well! Up over 100% this past week, we might see this card hold value for the future… or do we? With Curry and Klay out. Kelly Oubre, and Andrew Wiggins not living up to the hype everyone thought they would bring to Golden State, Poole is the only one giving that Warrior's team excitement. Although, as I said, he might be a significant role player in the future… when players are performing at levels like this, take profits now.
Buy, Sell, or Hold: Sell
#3- 2018 Shohei Ohtani Topps Base (LA Angles): It’s “Sho Time”! Baseball market is heating up, and we have to talk about Shohei Ohtani. The Designated hitter and Pitcher might be the spark that the Angles need. He is taking Spring Training by storm with being just an absolute monster of a Pitcher, then heading the dugout and being the Angles designated leadoff hitter. In over 20 spring training at-bats, he hits .600 and is hitting a 1.809 on-base-plus-slugging percentage. The Angles need to have Ohtani stay healthy this upcoming season. While only listing 12 starts in the three years he has been in the league; this might be the start we need to see from Shohei Ohtani! Up almost 83% this past week, we could be seeing just the beginning of the rise in his sports card.
Buy, Sell, or Hold: Hold
#4- 2016 Will Fuller V Prizm Silver (Miami Dolphins): After not playing the final 6 games of the season for violating the NFL's "Enhancing Drug Policy," people wondered how Will Fuller would have finished off his season! Being an absolute Fantasy football nightmare for some people last year, Fuller decided to sign with the Miami Dolphins and instantly has his name in the spotlight again! Finally, becoming a true WR #1, he will give Tua Tagovailoa that spark to help out that offense while also allowing the pressure off Parker, who might make a jump this upcoming season as well! Even with serving that six-game suspension, Fuller still had 8 TDs for 879 yards with an average of 16.6 yards per catch. We have seen Fuller's Prizm Silver jump 126% over the last 7 days! If Fuller can perform at the level he did last season while also lifting Tua's card value… I love this buy!
Buy, Sell, hold: BUY!
#5- 2019 Jarrett Culver Prizm Base (Minnesota Timberwolves): We have our one movement that is DOWN for the week! Jarrett Culver started at the beginning of this season, surprising some people. Opening the season with back-to-back double-digit games, scoring 20 points just 3 games later. Culver had much upside… but oh how the tables have turned. With being injured with a toe injury and the season, the Timberwolves has had (except Anthony Edwards) nothing has gone right for them! Even with having scattered injuries this season, Culver is averaging just 7 PPG, in almost 20 minutes of playing time! Culver has had sparks of upside, and there’s no way the Timberwolves can be this bad forever (right?). Even with the struggles, he has had, his Prizm base is only down 18%. I wanted to touch on this player because I actually like this as a huge buying opportunity. Culver was the 6th pick in the draft for a reason. I don't see him continuing to have these struggles, and once he does, that backcourt of him and Edwards might be dangerous!
